Holger Eckstein was born in Cologne, Germany.
He became interested in photography during his high school years and went on to study visual communications, photography and film at the University in Bielefeld.
His decision to become a professional photographer was encouraged by his winning numerous awards as a student. After graduating he opened a studio in Duesseldorf and began to establish himself as a fashion and advertising photographer.
After three very successful years he felt that he needed a more international environment, closer to the center of fashion.
He moved to Milan and continued to work there, building his career for seven years.
His next move was to Paris, where he lived and worked for two years.
For the past twelve years he has been living in New York and loves working in this exciting city where he continues to do lifestyle, fashion and advertising photography.
